John Maxwell Taylor has practiced the teachings and meditation practices of Paramahansa Yogananda since 1967, which has resulted in permanent access to ecstatic bliss consciousness. The Russian mystic George Ivanovich Gurdjieff has also deeply influenced him. In this book, he gives an insider's account of amazing states of expanded awareness and the ability to transmit the same to others. A Taoism and martial arts student, he is the developer of Sociological Aikido: The Invisible Art of Spiritual Social Self-Defense.
He is recognized internationally as the pioneer of Transformational Theater. His 20-character, one-man play Forever Jung is based on the life of Swiss psychologist Carl Gustav Jung. In 1996, Taylor received the prestigious Gradiva Award in New York for Best Actor in his portrayal of Jung from the National Association for the Advancement of Psychoanalysis. His other theater works include Faustorama: The Metaphysical Musical and Crazy Wisdom, a musical on the life of Gurdjieff, as well as the symphonic oratorio Christos Politico.
As a pioneering European rock singer/guitarist and recording artist in the mid-1960s, Taylor played in bands that opened for the Beatles and the Rolling Stones in Paris and performed for Queen Elizabeth on the Royal Variety Show at the London Palladium. He is also the author of the best-selling book The Power of I Am and two award-winning books, Eros Ascending: The Life-Transforming Power of Sacred Sexuality (2009) and The Enlightenment Quest and the Art of Happiness (voted Best Spiritual Book of 2015)
