xxxHolic follows a boy by the name of Watanuki. He's been plagued by the gift (he calls it a curse) of seeing spirits and other otherworldly phenomena. He ends up entering (being dragged into) a shop lead by a beautiful woman named Yuko. She's in the business of granting wishes, and only those who need her help can see and enter into her store. She accepts the challenge (he didn't actually ask) of granting his wish "I wish I didn't have to see them" and as payment, Watanuki now works in this kooky shop. However, it seems that even wierder things start happening to him as he "pays" for her services. This omnibus edition is great for those (like me) who tear through manga as soon as they get them. At three volumes (around 600 pages) there's a lot to sink your teeth into, and believe me once you do you won't stop. It's a great read, the art is amazing (but it's CLAMP so it's expected), and all the characters are fun and endearing, including Himawari-chan, Watanuki's love interest, and Domeki, Watanuki's friend/rival (more rival than friend). It'll only make you want more of the series, and so it's a must get, and an excellent start to get into the world of xxxHOLIC.
