Each book in this series just gets better. These books have, in a way, taken almost every fantasy convention out there and broken them. The young peasant girl who believes there is more out there for her, gets to be a princess... then hates it. Her brief time spent in royalty turns into a hilarious critique of high society. Elissa's drive to solve problems and be a hero makes her a classic fantasy heroine but not only is she a woman, but she solves problems in the ways that a woman would. She never uses violence. She uses mediation and problem solving. Also, This book, we get to learn a lot about Favian, who is turning into my favorite character. And we finally see a wonderful relationship bud between Elissa and Favian. On a whole, if you enjoyed the previous two books, you will adore this one. It ends with a bang (literally) and makes a really important message about environmentalism.
