Witt's Prayer

The discovery of gold in the icebergs of the Arctic Ocean now drives men to choose whether to risk the deadly effects of years of climate change-melting polar ice caps, and torrential tropical rains that have inundated the entire earth-or to take advantage of an opportunity to become incredibly wealthy in the now-dangerous gold fields. A crewman on a ship on Canada's James Bay scientist Witt Nelson and others note with alarm the water creeping up the shoreline. Realizing that it is too late to save the earth from the effects of the massive flooding Nelson makes the decision to turn the ship into a modern-day Noah's Ark. He and Theresa Watts, the captain, herd as many animals as possible onto the ship and hope for the world to be saved. A devoutly religious man, Nelson resorts to prayer, knowing that only a higher power can save billions of people and animals around the globe from drowning. After months drifting about the mostly flooded earth, and with the crew and animals on the verge of starvation, Nelson says one last prayer. Through the miracle of faith, he comes to realize it is a belief in God the world needs to be saved from the flooding, and it is a desire to please God that will save His planet from disasters in the future. People must respect and preserve that which God has made.
