Buy the book. Do the Diet. Stop Weighting Around.

I lost 112 pounds on the 5 Bite Diet. You can lose as much as you want! After reading the book, which lays everything out very simply, I joined the Slimming Station forums for the accountability and added support and for the Monday evening Zoom calls with author, Dr. Lewis. This diet is so easy to follow, literally, could not be more simple. You eat 5 bites of whatever you want twice a day until your unwanted weight is gone. Very safe because it is not forever. Just until your weight is exactly where you want it. Read this book to understand from a medical doctor how this is the best way to do it! I'm so glad I did! From 229 pounds to 117 pounds! From Size 2X to a Size 0. No more high blood pressure. No more high cholesterol. No more high blood sugar. No more aches and pains. Running around with my grandbabies like I am their teenaged baby sitter. Do this!

It makes sense and works

There is a lot of criticism around this approach, however I have never met anyone who has read the book and is still against it. This is by far the safest, simplest and most natural weight loss strategy that I have come across. It makes the body do what it should with the stored fat. The hunger pangs go away in the first 3 days and you get used to the reduced portions before you even know it. I have lost 11Lbs in the last 10 days alone that I have been following this approach. Update - 6/11/2010 I lost a total of 21 Lbs in the 31 Days that I did this diet. It has been 4 months since I got off the diet and have not gained any of the weight back. I have been eating normally since then (more or less). I will be starting with this again next week and will post another update.. It's The Truth!

I was a guest in the home of the author's parents, and saw the book lying out. I read the entire thing, and it changed my life! Once I realized how the body determines whether it is hungry, and how the body actually processes food (both are astoundingly simple explanations), I knew I could do it too. I went on the diet for 6 days and lost 9 pounds - a feat that took me over a month on Nutri-System. For the first time in my adult life I'm not obese! Now to get the rest of the extra weight off, and no longer be overweight either! My two daughters did the same diet - each lost over 10 pounds in eight days. Having this tool in your self-maintenance arsenal is the greatest gift! I feel younger, more self-confident - I wish for everyone that they could know about it.

Proof is in the results

My sister read this book and has lost over 50 pounds in less than 2 months. She has more energy and is very excited. I read the book and I see no reason why this should not work. It is the same diet that the patients who get the Lap Band surgery are put on. Just skip the surgery, go on the diet, deal with the 3 days of hunger pangs, then after that it is, according to the Dr. and my sister, fairly easy to follow and stay on. I have a few pounds to lose so I will start the diet now. I am surprised that there aren't more reviews.

I read this book in 1 afternoon, and I was very impressed. Everything makes sense, is logical, and is clear-cut and easy to understand. Not only did I love this book, I also joined the online forum, where Dr. Lewis answers questions, has live chats, and provides coaching for people who are eating this way. If the general public supports those who are wanting to get a gastric bypass performed, then everyone should support Dr. Lewis's plan as well. My husband has lost 25lbs in 2wks since starting this diet. Outstanding.

Great book

Lots of people say this book is a joke but I found it to be of great help. The Dr. who wrote it makes perfect sense. I've lost 22 pounds in 4 weeks!!
