As women of color serving in the ranks of the military the term "Freedom isn't free, I paid for it" goes far beyond the traditional call of duty. As African-American females we constantly have to fight to prove our value not only as women but as someone who deserves equality and fair labor rights. We have to fight for a life free from racial discrimination, gender discrimination, sexual assault and harassment and other conditions and sacrifices. We tend to grow accustomed to feeling guarded and often times develop a desensitized method of processing everyday issues and emotions. Well, we will no longer keep silent.
