Young Dave Santell was free from worry again. He had reached the end of the long trail drive from Texas to Kansas. And then, suddenly, he fell victim to trumped-up charges of rustling and murder. Grimly determined to get to the core of the frame-up, he invaded an outlaw strong-hold. A series of running battles ensued, but Dave emerged with the right answers to all his questions.
The first few pages tend to be a little corny about the main character but then it settles down and becomes a very good story, the trail boss Santell is framed by the indian agent with the help of an unreasonable heiress of the ranch whose herd of cattle he has just delivered to an indian reservation, lots of action well written I thought, the only sour point being the quick turn around of the daughter's attitude from a horse's catoot to a wonderful caring human and of course our hero forgives her, bah humbug:-)..Peter Dawson was Luke Shorts brother in real life, both great writers.
