Uruguay, a little country bordering Argentina and Brazil, was colonized by the Spanish and Portuguese much later than its neighbors, in the late seventeenth century. Despite the fact that the Charrua people historically lived in the area, there is little evidence of their civilization today. Because of the presence of African slaves in the country during the nineteenth century, the country adopted a range of African-inspired traditions and festivities, which are most noticeable during the Carnival celebrations at the beginning of the year. Uruguay has a lot to offer travelers in terms of delectable cuisine, unique cultures, and natural wonders to explore and discover.
