Adventure and heart intertwined

I've been reading this to my six year old daughter. What a great story. Hekja's adventures are thrilling, but the heart of her tale is not swordfights and sea voyages, but love, courage, and loyalty. I'm always on the lookout for adventure stories featuring girls, and this one was perfect.
