A fresh story that will make kids smile

Ursula Jones has created a fresh story about the traditional witch. In this book, children will identify with the characters as the witch's children look like normal, modern age children. The witch herself looks like "today's mom" with long, beautiful hair--as described by a six year old girl who read the story--and a purple dress with matching jewelry. Students will enjoy the silly and funny characters as well as the plot, and they will enjoy the new spin Jones has given to the tradional "princess and prince" fairy tale. Students will also be captured by the illustrations as they make the story alive with movement and magic. This is a story that kids wouldn't want to miss!

we read this book multiple times a day with my daughters' names replacing the names of the children. they love the story and discuss it as if they were part of it. it reminds us of Knufflebunny - such lovely interpretation of one of the best times of life, when the incantation "MOMMY!" will solve just about everything.
