My 6yr old listened intently every night.

This was our nightly bedtime novel, my 6yr old and myself(my 4yr old struggled to listen).
It's part of the Percy Jackson universe, Magnus is Annabeths cousin on their human parents side. Annabeth does feature briefly.
Author, Rick Riordan, does his research on the cultures and beliefs related to the dieties of each pantheon he writes about. And while the books aren't always 100% accurate to the research/history/mythos, he does use a lot of the facts from those stories to guide the relationships and base storyline along.
I love his books.
