The storyteller from Kossoh Town is inspirational with personal reflection on my birth and childhood in both Sierra Leone and Liberia. It is also about beliefs, perseverance and values. In discussing conditions that might have triggered the conflict in both countries, I considered the history of relationships between Americo-Liberians and indigenous people of Liberia and a similar situation in Sierra Leone, where we have the Creoles versus the indigenous people of Sierra Leone. I call this "the sins of our fathers." I write about hope and courage because I have depended on them to get me through some humps in my professional life. I discuss some of those peaks and valleys and bring you along on some of my professional assignments on three continents. You will meet the people of Zimbabwe, South Africa, Nigeria, Liberia, Sierra Leone, Guyana, and Barbados as we talk a bit about their culture and country. Zimbabwe's street children, talk about their life on the streets of Harare over lunch. I will take you along as we gathered "Around the Village Fire" and hear ex-combatants and survivors take about their experiences. Some of them were sex slaves, concubines, or children soldiers. My "letters" to Abdul and Ernest present, what I hope, will be a mechanism by which Liberians and Sierra Leoneans move forward, in the quest for lasting peace and reconciliation among their people. We'll dissect the Nightline Africa program (which I produced on the Voice of America) and share some very emotional moments when I cried with my listeners on the program. There are many stories to tell and I have tried to tell what I can in "The storyteller from Kossoh Town." As long as you are alive you are evolving. Every day comes with new challenges and there's always something new to discover. "The Storyteller From Kossoh Town" is not the usual memoir with deep philosophical concepts about life, but the theater of life we live in.
