A purpose that penetrates so deeply within the fabric of ordinary American life that it must not be allowed to die. So the Sorcerer must be sacrificed, replaced so that The Group can continue. Secrets, deceits and mysteries unravel, then wind around themselves until David can't tell the truth from The Group's carefully altered reality. David can trust no one....not even his competitor in this contest...the woman he was sent to kill and has grown to love.
