The "Yoko and Friends: School Days" books are fun and funny stories that help readers tackle common problems. By Rosemary Wells, they feature Yoko, Timothy and other popular characters seen on TV in the show "Timothy Goes to School." In this story, Nora faces a problem that many kids have had. She is having a birthday party, but she's only allowed to invite a few of her friends and not everyone in her class, because there's only room at her house for a few kids. The teacher, Mrs. Jenkins, sensibly has a policy that the kids aren't allowed to discuss such birthday parties at school because feelings can get hurt when people are left out, even if the birthday boy or girl isn't trying to hurt anyone's feelings. Nora tries her best to keep her secret, but it ends up getting overheard. At first, she's miserable, but then, with the help of Henry the bus driver, she figures out a special way to solve her problem.
