Read it in ONE day--couldn't put it down 'til done...3 A.M. A very surprising end. Merlin agreed on Max's death in the field at Waterloo to marry his intended to protect her. When he returns after recovering from his own injuries he finds Cynara marrying someone else so he carries her away from the wedding. Following them through all of their troubles keeps you reading. Excellent book. I do not agree with the other review as I truly enjoyed the book.
