I love this book! Great characterizations and a very good period piece about the South. Atticus Finch meet Miss Ora Beckworth! What a wonderful story. It is short but grabs your attention from the very first and keeps you interested. Loved the people and I just felt like I was there with them. I picked this book up and before I knew it I was finished with it. Do yourself a favor and read The Pecan Man.

Cassie Dandridge Selleck is a 'new to me' author. I am very glad to have found her writing of The Pecan Man.
The characters grow throughout this book. I love a southern read and this one is right up there! A story about friendship to the fullest, indeed. Old school thinking with love that shines through. We all can learn kindness that Ora Lee Beeckworth's kind heart.

I loved this book! The story told by Ms. Ora catches you from the beginning. As she tells it she reveals to herself many things about her character that she did not realize before...were her charitable acts done for the recipients, i.e. Blanche or Eddie, or to bluster her own view of herself?
