I enjoyed reading this book about the muscular system. It is not like your typical muscular system book. There are not extensive pictures of the muscular system with origin and insertion/function charts. It reads more like a story of the system and gives a lot of info on how the system has been studied over history. There is a long section devoted to diseases of the system. And there is a lot of info on how the system is formed in an embryo, which I have not seen much of in other books. The book is written in easy to read language and short passages. If you seek a more detailed understanding of the history of the muscular system or you want to pick up where your A & P book left off then this is a good resource.
