The Modern Goddess' Guide to Life is a sassy and practical guide to the goddess you know you are. It's also a fun way to empower our own joy and win fabulous prizes like self-confidence, communication skills, self-esteem, career success and great sex (of course). How to accomplish all this? Simply by letting your goddessness shine This wise and fun guide includes quizzes (which goddess are you today, or even right at this moment?) and games (Presto Instant Sex Magic, Princess Pink Day) along with these 13 modern goddesses who hang out at the cosmic spa and are out to change the world together (with as much fun and laughter as possible): Mother Goddess Girlfriend Goddess Goddess of Love Activist Goddess Bad Girl Goddess Princess Goddess Goddess-Just-Wants-to-Have-Fun Corporate Goddess Sex Goddess Out-to-Change-the-World Goddess Trickster Goddess Goddess of Wrath and Unintentional Destruction Ultimate Goddess
This is a wonderful book. Ms. DeGrandis is OBVIOUSLY one who lives closely with the Feri folk. Part of the magic of the fey is that they teach great lessons--such as how to identify your own flavor of magic/goddesshood--while distracting you with laughter, glitter, and play. And goofy quizes (which I thought were a lot of fun!) For those who are not yet ready (or able) to find the wisdom hidden in the joy and play of this book, I'd recomend that they read BE A GODDESS or GODDESS INITIATION, two of Ms. De Grandis' other books. What a gift, being able to learn more about myself and the Goddess without a lot of dry dogma or bad "poetry". When I start to forget the joy which is at the root of my spiritual practice, this is the book I grab to remind me to laugh.

Real Goddesses don't take themselves too seriously....except for when they absolutely must. On the one hand Francesca's humor in this book just shines through. I love her humor and jokes in here....and they age well. (I've read parts of this book multiple times now) On the other hand--and this is Francesca's genius--there are some important truths, lessons, and spells hidden within the humor. As a trickster Goddess I saw myself, and saw some of my failings (who me?) as well. More importantly than my loving it is how it has impacted my teenager. She memorized much of the chant/spells in the book. My favorite moment was when she declared, at 13, that she was a celibate sex Goddess. What made this so great a decleration was that she doesn't dress "sexy" by anyone's standards other than her own. (No MTV outfits on this girl) Modern Goddess' Guide to Life helped her to recognize her sensual and sexual self, and embrace them in their glory. That alone is worth the price of this book ten times over. Thanks for another great book!
Divinely Delightful!!

This book just gave me six ideas for the bridal shower I am throwing this month, including something that was stumping me: the theme! "Princess Pink Day!" (which is one of the book's party suggestions). Everyone will have to fill out the book's "What Kind Of Goddess Are You?" quizzes when they walk in the door, and we'll also play the book's games, "Presto! Instant Sex Magic!," "Love, Love, and More Love," and recite parts of the "I'm willing to accept diamonds as homage" manifesto. I want everyone to have fun while also tuning in to the deeper meanings of love and marriage, and these games offer both. I may give everyone a copy of the book as a party favor. The book is silly and fun, irreverent and compassionate, packed with some pretty deep wisdom, and sparkling with a zillion little reminders that life must be enjoyed while you sort out your issues and challenges. As Elle Woods and Carrie Bradshaw know very well, a pair of Manolo Blahniks and the right nail polish can be just as important as an hour on your therapist's couch. Ms. De Grandis has the right approach. What's not to love about a thoughtful self-help book that has glitter on the cover?
You're alive anyway...might as well be fabulous

I'll be buying more copies of this book to give to friends who take themselves a bit too seriously...all my female friends will recognize themselves somewhere in this book. Very amusing and fun with really useful resources for clothes, makeup and spiritual guidance, this book will make a great gift. It's small, pink, cute and the cover reminds me of Kim Novack in "Bell, Book and Candle". What's not to love? Well done, Francesca de Grandis!
fun, fun, fun!!

I absolutely adore this book-- it's pure fun! I bought copies for myself and my girlfriends, and had a blast with the quizzes. I'm taking it to a girls' night pajama party to share with more friends. Every woman should have this book-- and a tiara to wear with it!!
