Originally published in 1882, this work has been revised and updated for modern readers. Have there been any miracles since the time of the apostles? In our day, the usual answer has been a definite "no." A recent survey in one of our religious journals asked ministers, teachers, and theology professors for their opinions on this question. Most of them answered, and nearly all agreed that the age of miracles ended with the apostles. Some of the responses indicated that the question had not been deeply studied by those answering. In some cases, there was an attempt to sidestep the issue by asking, "What is a miracle?" Only one or two responses supported the idea that miracles are possible in every age and have occurred throughout the history of the Church. This little book we're sending out will most likely not gain support for its views because the ideas I present go against the majority opinion of theologians today. Adoniram Judson Gordon (1836-1895) was an influential American pastor, educator, and author. As pastor of Clarendon Street Baptist Church in Boston, he was a passionate advocate for global missions and the work of the Holy Spirit. Gordon also founded Gordon College and Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, shaping Christian education for generations. Listen to the free audiobook on scrollreader.com
