What happens when two popular children's authors decide to write a novel together? They spend alot of time writing letters to each other: friendly letters, funny letters, letters with excuses and nasty letters. In between times Robin Klein and Max Dann manage to produce a very funny story about Donovan and Scuff, best friends who board at an all-boys school. The two boys find themselves facing some awkward but hilarious encounters when they decide to start a Lonely Hearts Club in order to meet girls.

One of the best books I have ever read. It is a sure classic and brings fond memories for me each time I read it.It is about two boys (Donovan and Scuff), who form a "Lonely Hearts Club" in order to get themselves girlfriends. Things go amiss and they find themselves in more trouble than they can handle. Read it and find out!
