Many Impressionist paintings celebrate the conviviality of good food, of tables set out of doors, or vast picnics spread beneath the shade of hospitable trees. Todd follows the painters through France and celebrates the cuisines they would have sampled.'
I love this book so much. The stories that are shared along with the famous paintings are fascinating. The recipes and pictures of the foods are pictured in dishes and cutlery probably from that time and they look so delicious! The way the book presents itself makes you want to try those recipes knowing that these great artists once dined on these same foods at one time. The stories transport you to that time and dining on these recipes makes you feel even closer. The recipes are easy to understand and I've tried 2-3 dishes and they all came out spectacular. Can't wait to try more!
