From The New York Times bestselling author of Blue Heaven and Back of Beyond comes a gripping new thriller When teenagers Danielle and Gracie Sullivan take a clandestine car trip to visit their friend in Montana, little do they know it's the last time anyone will ever hear from them again. The girls and their car simply vanish. Cody Hoyt, who's just lost his job and has fallen off the wagon after a long stretch of sobriety, is in no condition to investigate. But his son Justin, who the girls were going to visit, and his former partner, Cassie Dewell, convince him to drive south to their last known location. As Cody makes his way to the remote stretch of Montana highway where the girls went missing, Cassie discovers that there have been scores of similar disappearances in the state. There's a serial killer out there roaming the highways, and Cody and Cassie must find him before he takes more lives.
The Cody Hoyt series or the Highway Quartet??!! The first book has zero to do with any of the others. Hoyt get killed in first 20 pages of this. And book theee is a bored to tears stand alone. The only linked books are two and four somewhat. Why does everything have to be a series?? Just don’t force the issue. I miss the good old fashion 500/600 page well developed stand alone. Everything has to be dragged about and broken up into more books. More money to spend to line their pockets.

I love C.J Box, he writes incredible. There’s creepy characters in the book and a twist that just hits different than most books I’ve read. This book is so underrated that I think more people should read from this author. If you haven’t read his Cassie Dewel series I recommend them all the way.
Lots of twists
