We have long since left northern Ontario, where we were living when we bought this cookbook and one other of the series. Time and again we find ourselves going back to the timeless, nutritious recipes contained in these pages. Definitely our favorite cookbooks.
My favorite cookbook
Published by Thriftbooks.com User , 23 years ago
I've had this cookbook since the early eighties, and it is still my cookbook of choice. The recipes are simple and clear, the variety is astounding (everything from veggieburgers to how to cook beaver and moose!) and I have no fear to try out a new recipe on company... most trials quickly become staples of my diet. I have bought this book (vol. 1) for my stepmother, friends and lovers. My only regret is that now that I want to buy it for someone else it seems to be hard to find. If you get your hands on a copy, keep it, and invite all your friends over to eat with you.

I have had this cookbook for many years and indeed it is one of my favorites. There isn't a bad recipe in the book. In fact you can be guaranteed of success just by following the simple instructions. My only disappointment is that there are no more than 3 volumes. I have all three and would love another!
