A lot about sex and eating has evolved in the 17 years since Richard Smith wrote his original bestseller, "The Dieter's Guide to Weight Loss During Sex." Almost everything, in fact, except our insatiable interest. Introducing the all-new dieter's guide to weight loss during sex. Written for the low-fat age of post-feminism, cybersex, aging boomers, and latex, here is all-new research correlating current sexual practices with weight loss. Just saying no, for example, can burn 15 calories (70 if he's a hunk). Putting on con-doms turns out to be a boon for weight-watchers during foreplay: 11; while still at the restaurant: 288. There are sections for remarried lovers (woman on top, man under new management), for two-career couples (how to save time through simultaneous orgasm), for couples with fertility problems (up to 500 calories a night; 3,200 if pressured by in-laws).Thank yous to the tireless Mr. Smith for a healthy new look at sex in the 1990s.
I originally bought this book when it first came out, over 30 years ago, and still have that tattered copy. Recently, a friend and I began suggesting and sending funny books to each other and I remembered this classic one from the past, so sent him a copy. Here's the thing...I don't think I've ever laughed so hard at anything I've read, and the laughs haven't diminished through the years as I've brought the book out now and then. Richard Smith has come up with the silliest ideas, which provide great mental visuals. Honestly, maybe I'm just demented, but this gem has never failed to satisfy!
