Charlotte Aldridge has been raised by her doting grandfather and when they attend a holiday house party hosted by the Barringer's it is with the understand that her grandparent hopes to solidify a match between her and Edward Barringer. Edward and Charlotte are very likeable protagonists and their romance is at turns sensual and sweet. Readers may be turned off by Charlotte's strong character traits in the beginning. Her spoiled and self assured nature is not often found in characters of historical romance. This adds actually to the whole plot of the story so readers she not give up on her. This is an entertaining light read that will put readers into the holiday mood.
