The Billionaire's Virgin Mistress

I have read more harlequin novels than I can count, a lot lately especially, all for the summer mood. However, lately I've been becoming more and more disillusioned with the stories. They all began to run together, feeling the same with no substance. I don't even know what made me buy this book, but by the back description, I thought I would be put off by the inter-familial dating. But shockingly, once I started it, I loved it. This is the story about a damaged man who has heart and a history, but despite it all, he is not cruel or unfeeling or blows off the heroine which has become a common reoccurance. The heroine has survived horrors and a hard life, and is strong for it. This doesn't come at the expense of a good heart or what else makes the female lead in this kind of story endearing. All in all, it was a story with love and strength and one of those ones that makes you feel simply lighter and happier after having read it. I would recommend it time and again

I absolutely loved this book. I loved the strength of the heroine Tess and the hero Cade. The storyline is simple and yet complicated. Tess is the biological grand-daughter of Cade's step-father. Cade's step-father asked him to locate her after he has a heart attack. Unbeknownst to Tess she has a grandfather that she thought was dead, and rich too boot. Cade is skeptical of Tess but is instantly attracted to her. I loved the fact that they are both fighting not to fall in love, because of the lack of love and care they had received through most of their lives. Although Tess is much younger than Cade she shows a maturity in the way that she is able to express herself and own up to her feelings for him. She is able to stand up to Cade's "CEO personality" and not back down when at times he becomes over baring. Cade is a mixture of tough and sensitive, he wants to meet someone who is attracted to him and not his bank balance, but when he finally meets her, he doesn't know how to handle or trust the way she makes him feel. I loved the journey that these two characters took together, both fighting and loving one another in the effort to find the illusive happiness, stability and security that they both want. I was pleasantly surprised by the pace of this book and I laughed a lot and finished the book in 2 days kudos to Ms. Fields!
