THE TIME TO ENCOURAGE HEALTHY EATING HABITS AND SMART FOOD CHOICES FOR YOUR CHILD IS NOW. Unhealthy food is everywhere-colorfully packaged, cheap, and full of fat, calories, and sodium. It's no wonder... This description may be from another edition of this product.
After looking through many baby food books on how to feed my toddler, I finally came upon Baby Food Bible. This is the best book I've found so far. The author balances nutritional information and recipes very well. The book is well organized and is easy to read. She touches on a lot of different topics and gives you a complete answer and understanding without going overboard in text. The first part of the book discusses nutrition and is very informative. She even talks about some of today's hot topics such as obesity, allergies, gluten free diets, fatty acids, high fructuose corn syrup, how to set up a schedule, and what kinds of vitamins and minerals are important. Then she moves on to an A to Z section of ingredients. Each food has a short summary, how to prepare it and how to store it. This is my favorite part. Sometimes I just want quick and fast instructions, such as for apples, beets, or papaya. The end section is a recipe section that is separated into different meals. I've tried many of her recipes and they have all turned out great. The recipes are not overly complicated and only require the most basic ingredients. Most only have 5 or 6 ingredients and they taste delicious!

This book's format made it easy to read and later reference. I liked how she gave basic prep and cooking instructions for a variety of common foods. Several handy charts, and tables, too. This helped ease my worries when about to transition to solids.
Great Common Sense Guide To Child Nutrition

I really liked this book a lot. Behan really delves into the topic of childhood obesity and packs her little book with a ton of insight on food today. Packed with advice and tips on feeding babies and toddlers as well as recipes, food plans, age appropriate foods and a strong focus on well planned meals served at predictable times in a proper meal setting (i.e. around the family table). Not just a book of recipes it really advises parents how to create life long healthy eating habits.
AN EASY TO READ GUIDE FOR FAMILY HEALTH

AS A NUTRITIONIST WHO ALSO COOKS FOR A FAMILY I FOUND THE BABY FOOD BIBLE TO BE A COMMON SENSE APPROACH TO FEEDING A FAMILY WELL. I FOUND MYSELF READING IT THROUGH AS THOUGH IT WERE A NOVEL AS THE STYLE IS CONVERSATIONAL. THE DETAILS OF HEALTHY EATING ARE CLEAR; THE RECIPES EASY TO FOLLOW; THE ADVICE RE: PICKY EATERS SENSIBLE. I MOST LIKED THE EMPHASIS ON FAMILY MEALS. FAMILY MEALS HAVE DISAPPEARED FROM THE LANDSCAPE AND IT WAS GOOD TO SEE SUPPORT FOR REEMPHASIZING THIS IMPORTANT PART OF FAMILY LIFE.

This book puts it all together for you. I have 2 children (3 and 1 yrs old). I wish I had this book earlier for my now picky eating 3 yr old. This book helps you understand all the wholesome choices available and how easy and important it is to serve them. What makes this book unique is that the recipes are for the whole family (what a concept)so you are no longer a short order cook. This is a must read for anyone with kids and is very affordable.
