The story opens with a scene from the first century where an ancient Biblical library, hidden from the Romans, are buried by a volcanic eruption. Two thousands years later the reader finds Jim has returned from his dangerous African adventure and is facing empty days of unemployment. He agrees to work for The Safari Adventure Company and travels to Cairo for leadership training. Once again Jim gets mare adventure then he bargained for when the ancient library is discovered by the Company, setting off a dangerous sequence of violence and hatred. Jim's quest for the library becomes a personal quest for validation of his faith, and an affirmation of his courage.
