Invaluable to those outside of North America who have an interest in railroading in general and in particular the influence of United States railroading developments and practises as they affect the world's railroads.

This is a good book for folks like me, that don't know much about freight trains. The info starts simple, & while it includes some technical info, doesn't get too technical. Very relaxing read, & good pics.

As a model railroader I was happy with the loads and loads of information, together with the many pictures in this book. I liked the American Passenger Train better but not much.
