Finally there's someone who can accomplish both common sense and compassion! Dr. Rimm has the knowledge, experience and empathy to speak directly to parents, giving them advice they KNOW they can and should follow. My two sons are now 17 and 19. They are fine young men and I am frequently complimented on their behavior, attitudes and work ethic. Why? Because when they were very young I read this book and it gave me PERMISSION and support to teach them the skills necessary to be successful adults: courtesy, self-discipline, responsibility, etc. If you have children, whether you think you're a good parent or not, buy this book, toss all your other self-help books and cancel your counseling appointments.
