Great plot, very believable characters, and just enough twists to keep you turning the pages. An excellent first novel and one which is especially recommend for anyone to lives in or has visited northern Michigan

I'm usually not a big fan of mystery novels but once this gems got into my hands I couldn't put it down. Great, believable characters and a riveting plot! I'm hoping for a sequel!

As an avid reader of mystery novels I am always looking for an author who is able to develop complex characters I care about, capture the essence of a place, and unfold the mystery gradually and suspensefully. Robert Underhill has done all this in Strawberry Moon. I can't wait for his next book.

Propelled by the strange disappearance of a local physician, the story follows small town sheriff, Hoss Davis, as he is thrust out of the lazy comfort of normal routine into the unfamiliar territory of a high profile murder investigation. As he and his band of loyal deputies try gamely to solve the case, they find themselves opposed and undermined at every turn by the forces of big money developers, shady politicians, and a deep-rooted distrust between the native Indian population and the surrounding community. An equal dash of romance, temptation, and insightful character development further spice up this satisfying read. The combination of engaging characters and local color leaves a lasting impression. I look forward to a follow-up on this accomplished debut novel.
