Humor and Truth - Sometimes at the same time
Published by Thriftbooks.com User , 18 years ago
This book, part of a series of 'Staying Sane' through some of the common experiences of life features a series of stories/articles/essays or whatever you'd call them from people who've 'been there, done that, and made every other mistake as well.' Having made a number of mistakes they talk about, I only find one real complaint. They say go to closing prepared to sign your name about 500 times, but don't bother reading all that stuff. I took a lawyer to my first closing, he actually read the documents and pointed out that the legal description of the house on the forms was really the paragraph describing the street. We were buying the street, not the house. The closing agent of course blamed his secretary, but at least got the papers re-written. If you're experienced with buying a house, this book will give you a lot of humor. If you're new to the game, there is more truth here than you would expect.
