Jennifer, or Jenny as she was known to her family and friends, was born and raised on the small family ranch on the outskirts of Louisville. She was an only child and her father was a respected veterinarian, while her mother worked in the office with her father helping out wherever needed and keeping the books. Every summer when school was out, Jenny went to her grandparents' house in the rolling hills near Lexington. Her grandfather had been a doctor, but retired many years ago and had built a nice two story home far out in the country, which overlooked a large meadow with a pond. Grandpa always had a few head of cattle that he raised for meat and a little income for him and grandma, a few chickens for eggs, and they were both very happy there. When Jenny was ten years old, her mother passed away from cancer, and her father never got over the loss, and began traveling all the time. Jenny thought that maybe it was his way of trying to cope with his loss. Her father made arrangements for her to go live with her grandparents as he was never home anymore, and not a suitable parent when he was. Jenny was an excellent student and after graduation from high school she was determined to continue her education, and possibly go into medicine like her grandfather had done. Her grandparents were most supportive of her education and could provide any financial assistance that Jenny would need. Jenny met a young man that was attending the same school and they developed a relationship based on friendship, but one that would grow into a love that would last for many years.
