Nearly a century without a World Series championship and now two in four years?! This Red Sox squad is summed up by the title of the Boston Globe's official keepsake of the championship season: So Good!
I have both the Boston Globe and Boston Herald books on the 2007 Sox win and found the Globe version much superior. The book is divided into sections on the World Series, ALCS, Division Series and 07 season. Each section begins with a brief narrative from Globe columnists ( 2 written by Edes and one each by Shaughnessy and Macmullan.) In each case, this is followed by a collection of full page and double page photos. There are some outstanding and iconic shots: Ellsbury's catch in the last inning of the Series, the Sox dugout while losing in Cleveland, Manny's reception at home after his walk-off HR in the ALDS, and Youkilis being hit by a pitch. Other features include a game by game summary of the season, an analysis of Beckett and Dice-K starts and 9 pages of photos of members of Red Sox Nation. There are not as many books available as after the 2004 win. So far, So Good is the definitive picture summary.
