Business takes on a new flavor Resort manager Emilie Woodward's plans to make the Flamingo Beach Spa and Resort the place to be just hit a snag. His name is Rowan James. His hard-muscled body makes her weak in the knees and his plan to open a casino next door may cost Emilie her job. And when Rowan asks Emilie out, suspicion crowds out the erotic fantasies of Rowan that have lately filled her head. She wonders what he is really after. Is he looking for a no-strings-attached fling, or a competitive advantage? It would take more than a couple nights of steamy passion to make two fierce business rivals into ever-after lovers...wouldn't it?
The fall season is over, but you do not have to succumb to winter's wrath. You can relax vicariously, with Emilie Woodward, on Flamingo Beach, a small Florida community. Emilie, the director of leisure sales, is responsible for filling the 500 rooms at the Flamingo Beach Spa and Resort. Currently the occupancy is about 40 percent and the senior vice-president of sales and marketing is on her case. But filling the resort is only one of Emilie's problems; she is being pursued by a man who she sees as a passing dalliance. Flamingo Beach is predominantly an African American community and her suitor, a prominent land developer, Rowan James, is white. Emilie promised her dad she would not venture outside of her race, plus Rowan is a nomad and she wants permanence. Rowan has not shared his past with Emilie; he was born and raised in a tough mixed neighborhood in Brooklyn, was married to an African American woman, and can hold his own. Emilie is not a passing fancy, but she is tougher than most of the women who captured his attention. Rowan sets his plan in motion; he must woo Emilie at a strategically reduced pace. An added distraction, is the advent of a new hotel/casino which will be stiff competion for Emilie's hotel, a lucrative job opportunity for Rowan, and will certainly change the demographics of Flamingo Beach. When Flamingo Beach Spa and Resort is purchased by the incoming company Emilie suspects Rowan of having had a hand in it. SEX ON FLAMINGO BEACH is the fourth book in the Flamingo Beach series and it candidly addresses change and taking chances. Ms. Gamble knows that life changes and relationships change too; she encourages people to take a risk on love, just jump in with both feet. This was fun, sexy and adult, a refreshing read. This was a fun read. The characters dialogue was serious yet witty. Loved the author's writing style. I enjoyed the main characters love story as well as the secondary characters that were introduced.

The title is a little in your face, but the sensuality for which King-Gamble is known for was definitely there. The author delivered another finely crafted book and a fun read. I've been following this series and I hate to see it end. What I particularly like about Sex on Flamingo Beach is the interplay between hero and heroine and King-Gamble's intelligent handling of the interracial relationship. The story was humorous, fun and very current. I enjoyed it so much that I ordered several other books by this author.
