Prisoner Rhys Redding's only hope of escaping the confines of his Confederate jail before the conquering Yanks set the prisoners free and find out who he really is lies in Susannah Fallon, a... This description may be from another edition of this product.
Rhys Redding get himself captured after becoming a blockade runner in place of Adrian Cabot, his story is told in LIGHTNING where Rhys had gambled with Cabot's brother and won Cabot's estate. Rhys [Reese] ends up in Libby Prison after killing a Union Major, stealing his uniform and running right into the Confederates. Susannah Fallon, widow of Mark Fallon, and sister to Wes Carr helps them to make a daring escape. With both men wounded she has to look out for both of them. The secret that Rhys is keeping from Susannah is in keeping with the times. There was great shame in his bloodlines and upbringing. It is what made him the man that he was at 36 years of age when he met Carr and his sister. The story has a wonderful bunch of characters - As Wes still loves Erin but his honor demands self-sacrifice. Wes is an outcast because of fighting for the Union while most of Texas was for the Confederates. As for their problems with PMS, you take it where you can get it. I am surprised that Potter worked with some restraint as a lot of bed hoping gets a bit tiresome. You could feel their intense passion for each other. Although it was a bit . . . . . I really liked Rhys becoming the Legend, "Nighthawk" and the way it seemingly pulled the community together. Again this is one of her really good stories - definitely a keeper [at least for me]. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED with a plus - the set really rocks!
