Gilbert Moxley Sorrel (February 23, 1838 - August 10, 1901) was a staff officer and Brigadier-General in the Provisional Army of the Confederate States.

Published in 1905, these are the memoirs of Confederate General Gilbert Moxley Sorrel, who served as Lt. Colonel and Chief of Staff for Longstreet's 1st Army Corps and Brigadier General commanding Sorrel's Brigade, A.P. Hill's 3rd Army Corps, Army of Northern Virginia.
