Excellent prep for PPST

I found that this study guide prepared me well for the PPST. I'm back online to see if there is a "Fundamental Subjects: Content Knowledge" Study Guide by the same people, so I can be just as well prepared for that test. (If you have a good reco, I'd appreciate a comment below! I'm sure many people preparing for this test will also be preparing for the other.) As another reviewer mentioned, I found the exercises in this book to be much more difficult than those found in the test. That being said, I would gladly be overprepared than under so that I can take it once and be done. I took the CBT version in December '09 and received 2 of my scores immediately: Math 188 and Reading 181. I should mention that I have a background in Math, so it's my strongsuit anyway. However, on the flip side I found the Reading and Writing section in this Study Guide to be very challenging and got a number of exercises wrong, so I was especially happy with my Reading result. I'm waiting for my Writing score, which is not immediately available due to the Essay component. Fingers crossed that will be passing as well!

This helped so much! The cd gave me great practice. With the cd, I always passed the test by the skin of my teeth, but at the real test I passed with flying colors, so its very tough on you which is great!

The problems in the PPST I test were easier than the problems in the book. I also purchased ETS The Praxis Series Official Guide - a must have for the PPST Writing: the Essay. The Essay Topics section was right on the money. The topic I was given was the same as one of the topics in the book. I wish I would have studied this section more. I passed two of the three tests - Reading: 175; Math: 185, and I am still waiting for the results from the writing test. If you are preparing for the PRAXIS I test, I strongly suggest that you get both books.

I was familiar with everything covered on the Praxis and needed refreshing. This book covered everything in detail, then I had 4 practice exams to be sure before the real thing. Excellent...
