"Pieces for Piano - Volume II" by composer Gary Rutledge is an eclectic collection of 16 (mainly) short pieces. The pieces range from lower intermediate to advanced level. Being short in length they can be learned in a short time frame. There are three volumes in this series, all with various degrees of difficulty. All of the pieces are stylistically different. Many of the pieces, such as "Thirds in C" , were designed to help learn particular technical skills (eg. Left and right hands playing precisely together). Other pieces, such as the "Dance of the Three Dolls" , conjure up an imagined storyline. In general " Volume I" contains easier pieces, whilst " Volumes II and III" have a more difficult set of pieces. The pieces in "Volume II" are titled: Uncertain Progress, Waves, Thirds in C, Inserts, Old Age, The Success Series (Diminished Success - Holistic Success - Minor Success and Major Success), Lullaby, Dance of the Three Dolls, The Bird and the Worm, Steam Train, Baby Michael Can't Stop, The Royal Bridal Waltz and Yellow.
