"Introduction of The Family, Pelletier/ Le Pelletier". The first Pelletier to come to "New France" who landed and settled in New France, was "Master Carpenter" Nicolas Pelletier, with his wife Jeanne de Voisy and their two sons, "Jean & Francois". This Nicolas Pelletier was the son of "Jean Baptiste Pelletier & Catherine Tessier". Jean Baptiste was the son of "Guillaume le Pelletier - 1538 & Etinnette Monhe". There was another Nicolas Pelletier who arrived in New France at a later date, and this Nicolas Pelletier was the son of "Eloi Pelletier & Francoise Matte". Eloi & Jean Baptiste were in fact brothers, both the sons of Guillaume. "Guillaume Pelletier" was the son of Pierre Le Pelletier & Jeanne Moulin. Many of those researching the Pelletier families, often confuse the two Nicolas Pelletiers, and often follow the wrong line.
