"Parables: An Earthly Story with a Heavenly Truth" is a brief snapshot of the 40 parables found in the gospel accounts. The parables of Jesus are among the most memorable aspects of Jesus' teaching. Jesus was a master storyteller and was able to illustrate biblical truths through object lessons with which everyone could relate. He also understood that not everyone was going to understand His cryptic teaching style. The Bible makes clear that "hearing they do not hear" (Matt. 13:13). In other words, they audibly heard the teaching of the parable, but they did not grasp the intended meaning behind the illustration.Through these brief snapshots of the parables, it is my desire for you to read through them with a Christological lens; a lens that is focused on Jesus as the key figure. The closer we look at the parables the more Jesus comes into focus!He who has ears, let him hear!
