In turn-of-the-century New Orleans, beautiful and virginal Abigail Du Pre has just been given to the mysterious Dr. Lucien Trier, sent to be his servant in exchange for her father's onerous gambling... This description may be from another edition of this product.
I've enjoyed the good doctor's short stories on literoctia for quite some time and this is a very good first effort. I enjoyed the first half better than the second, since it focused on the relationship between the husband, a maledom and his new wife, the unwitting female submissive. During the second half the wife seemed to fall prey to everyone she met, everyone but her husband. I'm not a writer so you'll have to go elsewhere for a summary, but if you want a hot read this just might do you. It's certainly a cut above the half dozen other books I've read from Ellora's Cave.

Great gothic setting, a mysterious doctor and a lonely young woman's surprising discovery of her own dark passions. Having purchased Abigail as an erotic plaything in exchange for settling her father's debts, the doctor is more than satisfied with her response to his sexual domination - but when he realizes he's falling in love, will he have as much courage? This is the first novel in paperback by a recent Ellora's Cave author, long familiar to fans of Literotica.com as Dr_Mabeuse. Mabeuse's stories are not for the timid, but neither do they contain the sadism and contempt for women that are all too typical of male writers in the BDSM genre. I became a fan when I was relatively new to explicit erotica, still embarrassed by my attraction to stories of bondage and discipline - and made even more uncomfortable by the depiction of female characters as mindless objects. I was delighted to find a male author who writes BDSM with sensitivity and compassion. Mabeuse's male characters aren't motivated by contempt for women, but by sexual desire so overwhelming, it threatens their sense of control. As Abigail will learn, power has less to do with who ties the knots or wears them, than with the willingness to explore the depths of desire. A solid 5 on my Yowsa! scale.
