Sharing our family stories is a powerful tradition, a tradition that strengthens our families, defines our place in the world and creates community in our lives. In Our Family Scrapbooks, Lisa... This description may be from another edition of this product.
This is it for me! The last scrapbooking book I'll ever buy. What I needed was a way to tunnel through all of my papers and embellishments and get down to the serious business of creating scrapbooks. This is not a book of cutsie page layout ideas. It is a guide to creating timeless, elegant scrapbooks worthy of passing down to future generations. The authors did a beautiful job of telling their own stories and inspiring ideas for albums of my own. I want to stress that this is not a step-by-step, "how-to" book. I found it pretty to look at, a joy to read and delightfully ispiring. I suspect someone new to scrapbooking might be frustrated by the lack of instructions.
An essential guide to family history

I have just lent this book to my father, who is currently researching family history for an upcoming reunion. He has garnered so many ideas as to what information we want to ask at this event. Becky Higgins is an amazing scrapbooker. Pleasing to both the traditional and more avant garde scrapbooker alike. This is a must have for any scrapbooker/family historian.
The Queens of Scrapbooking Do It Again

I'll admit it, I'll buy anything that has Becky Higgins' name on it -- and with Lisa Bearnson, how can you miss? I really enjoyed seeing personal pages from each woman. They are always a wealth of inspiration and knowledge. If you're looking for detailed "how tos," this is not the book to buy. But if you want pages and pages of great inspiration and top-notch design, don't miss this book.
Happy I have it

As a big fan of Becky Higgins, this book was a "must buy" for me. I have all of her previous books, and really appreciate her beautiful, photo oriented (vs. page embellishment oriented) scrapbook pages. I really liked the Lisa Bearnson pages also. That said, this book seems to have a lot of fluff in it. I wish that instead of beautiful filler pages with pictures of bookshelves and flowers, that there would have been more pages from each scrapbook featured. Sometimes the journaling is too small to read - and the journaling is such an important part of a scrapbook. This book has much less content than Ali Edwards' Designer's Eye for Scrapbooking. Still, a great book and a tool I will use.
