I have read literally HUNDREDS of books about animal rescue and this one is among my top ten for sure. Pen Farthing does not sugar coat the situation in Helmand Province nor the straits dogs find themselves in there. But this inspirational true story documents how one caring person can make a difference despite almost insurmountable obstacles. If you believe that saving even one dog is far better than saving none, then this book is for you.
