Beauty To The Beholder

This large format book is filled with images that are erotic, funny, abstract and even thought provoking. Having read the negative reviews, I think that the reviewrs had misplaced expectations, but beauty is in the eye of the beholder and opinions will differ. Nude Body Nude is a book that plays with the human form in many creative ways. To tackle such a project must be daunting; it must be challenging to give the human form a creative approach that is fresh. Many of the photographer's efforts appealed to me more than others. But, for me, this book succeeded far more than it failed. Take a look at the example included with this listing and see for yourself.

Each page makes evident the skill and attention given over to portrayal of the human form. Sometimes bare, sometimes provocatively garnished, this is nothing less than virtuoso in flesh and blood.

Hooray, Howard is back with a luscious, gorgeous, magnificent book of nudes that is both dynamic and sensual. This large format book is the ideal size to aptly display the sumptuous geometry of the human form. For those familiar with Schatz other books this is reminiscent of "Passion and Line" with overtones of "Water Dance"; the former being my personal all time favorite book of photography. "Nude Body Nude", while filled with astute studies of the human form, does have its lighter side too--a few quirky images designed to throw the viewer off guard. I panned his last book but I love this one. Don't buy it as a gift, buy it for yourself.

If you are familiar with Schatz's previous work, get this book now. There are alot of photographers out there producing figurative work, but few produce like Schatz. The turn of each page produces a new delight. Can this guy get stale? Not here. This book is my favoite of all he has done so far. Buy it now because this book will sell fast and soon be unavailable.
