When a city boy can't coax the milk out of a dairy cow, he resorts to desperate measures ranging from bribery to acrobatics to magic. But no milk! The boy and the cow are starting to get angry, and there isn't a single drop in the pail. How they finally arrive at a creamy compromise makes for a udderly appealing read aloud. Full-color illustrations.
I just got this book for my 2 year old. He and I have read it for 3 nights straight...he picks it out every time at bedtime. He enjoys saying along with me..."no millk" as each page ends in that blurb. Repetition is fun for little readers, and this book is cute and funny. I recommend it for city kids and farm kids alike. :)
Truly charming. Text has lovely rythym. Engaging art.

I found the tale of this city boy and his new friend, the cow, to be charming. The text has a very rythmic quality that makes it fun to read aloud. My niece loved it. The cow has a very sweet face and a patient personality. The illustrations add color and life to the text, especially the magical flying cow! A good read
