Neath! Neath! Neath!: The Record-Breaking 1988/89 Season

In the 1988/89 rugby season, the Neath team set new world records for tries and points scored in a season and simply outclassed many of its opponents. The team also won an unofficial league title as well as the Schweppes Cup, in which arch-rivals Llanelli were defeated in the final. This success was the culmination of "The Thomas Revolution," that period in the 1980s after Neath rugby legend Brian Thomas had returned to the club as team manager and, assisted by his able lieutenants and a superb squad, rapidly pulled the club out of the rugby doldrums. This book tells the full story of that epic season (and much more) in full, and includes action images by the late Jim Giddings as well as artwork by Ray Thomas and Hywel Branch. A must for Neath rugby club supporters and of interest to rugby fans in general, the book is authored by Neath-based local historian, Bernard Lewis, author of "Swansea in the Great War" and "Swansea and the Workhouse" (amongst other works).
