It is December 1914, four months after England declares war on Germany. Sherlock Holmes is visiting his friend and chronicler, Dr. John H. Watson. Holmes receives a call from his brother, Mycroft, advisor to the prime minister, asking his younger sibling to present himself at the Admiralty and to Winston Churchill, First Lord of the Admiralty. There's been a murder. Holmes, who had been living in retirement in Sussex since 1903, looks forward to applying his skills of observation and deduction by investigating a young man's death. Watson too misses those halcyon days from the last century when he joined Holmes on an adventure. But there is much that Dr. Watson does not know about his close friend. He suspends his medical practice for the day as he and Holmes leave Kensington for Whitehall. The game is afoot!
