From tiny 'roos to penguin chicks--and humans too!--babies love to be picked up. Animal mothers of all kinds carry their babies in different ways. Mommy Hippo's baby is on her back. Mommy Lemur's baby is on her tummy. Mommy Monkey's baby is on her tail. And Human Mommy's baby is in her arms. With vibrantly-colored illustrations, this simple tale is a warm celebration of motherhood in its many forms. We originally began reading this book in the waiting room of my daughter's speech therapy session. They had a bin of books and my two year old would always choose this book for me to read to her while we waited for her big sister. After months of reading it over and over, I searched out my own copy for her. My two year old just adores this book. She can even "read" it herself! My 5 year old wont admit it, but she loves it too. We read this book at least once or twice a day around here. It's such a cute book and easy for the kids to identify with.
"Carry Me"
Published by Thriftbooks.com User , 16 years ago
As I read the book in the library, a young girl about six years old interjected, "I like this book." Also, the book displays how differ animals carry their young. The illustrations are lively, inviting, and playful. The baby animals in the book asked their mommy to carry them. It reminds me of my daughter asking me to carry her when she gets tired. Moreover, in the last scene a human baby asked her mother to carry her-a good wrap-up.

My daughter (18 months) loves this book. We checked it out at the library and liked it so much we had to buy it. Great pictures and it's fun to learn the animals. She can name them all, but especially loves the mommy and baby at the end.
Great Read Aloud Book

We all love this book, the illustrations are great and the text is fun for the children. Daddy is not as excited about it because when he tries to substitute "Daddy, carry me please!", the children correct him. We found this book at the library and loved it so much we ordered it.
