There are plenty of EQ frequency charts and articles out there. These explain the "what". It isn't until you HEAR these frequencies that you understand "why"; WHY it sounds better to cut 300hz on a kick drum, WHY it makes your music sound more expensive when you add 16kHz, etc. Once you hear it, then you start to get it and are ready to apply that knowledge to your own music and mixes.
